TACTE Membership
TACTE offers two types of membership.
Comprehensive membership: All regionally accredited colleges and universities in
Tennessee which are AACTE member institutions are eligible.
State membership: All other colleges and universities which are non-AACTE member
institutions in Tennessee are eligible.
Each member institution is allocated voting members according to the size of its
teacher preparation program. Additional delegates are awarded for AACTE
membership and NCATE approval of the teacher education program. Consequently,
voting members for an institution vary from a minimum of three to a maximum of
nine.
Dues
Institutions with three representatives: $130.00 1 to 75 teacher education graduates per year
Institutions with four representatives: $190.00 76 to 150 teacher education graduates per year
Institutions with five representatives: $250.00 151 to 225 teacher education graduates per year
Institutions with six representatives: $310.00 226 to 300 teacher education graduates per year
Institutions with seven representatives: $370.00 over 300 teacher education graduates per year
Institutions entitled to additional representatives resultant from NCATE accreditation or AACTE membership do not include these representatives in determining their dues structure according to the above formula. However, institutions with additional representatives are assessed $10.00 per additional representative to produce their share of the Executive Secretary's salary and travel expenses.
