One of the Tennessee Association of Colleges of Education’s (TACTE) responsibilities is to provide state-level leadership as an advocate and supporter of IHE based teacher education programs. Accordingly, one of our goals is to gather accurate and valid data regarding our programs to be shared with both the public and policy makers. . TACTE has developed the attached impact flyer with a small state grant from AACTE to share the value of our collective contributions to education in Tennessee.
Data used to develop the flyer was self-reported by 27 of the 44 university based teacher preparation program across the state of Tennessee. These data are for the 2010-2011 school year and represent numbers reported by the 27 participating programs in response to the following questions.
1. The total number of teachers licensed in 2010-2011?
2. The total number of field experience and student teaching/intern hours clocked in by your teacher candidates for 2010-2011 (# of field experience hours X number of students plus # of student teaching/intern hours X number of students)?
3. List the partner school districts and counties served by your teacher candidates during the 2010-2011 school year.
4. Total dollars in state and federal grants/scholarships received by students in 2010-2011?
